Does anyone know how the Ruger hammer forge barrels compare to aftermarket barrels(Green Mountain, Clerke, Clark etc)with respect to accuracy.

Thanks

Re: Ruger hammer forged barrel

GM has well documented QC problems.
Clark, VQ, KID are all wonderful; I've NOT (edited-since the stroke I sometimes I leave important little words like "not") tried the superpremiums like Shilen or Lijla.
My Ruger T is pretty good; findings the right load in any .22 is important. Mine shoots reliable under .400" @50yd with $4.50 ammo.

I would love buy a "T" "bad" barrel cheap.
Send that puppy to Cameron Dearborn for a rechamber, crown, lap.

My target .308 and .22-250's were both tackdrivers with handloads. IMHO, the M77MKII Target models are the Cadillacs of factory rifles. A tad pricey and not as common as the others, I liked mine.

I currently own 3 M77 MKI's, a pair of sporters, .280 Rem and .30-'06, and a varmint weight .280 Rem. They please me.
