Hi all, new to the forum and new to long range... Mostly a Milsurp wood and iron guy but got an itch for a new piece of hardware.

I know its a silly place to start and I know ammo and reloading costs, but this was a midlife- impulse buy so don't beat me up too bad. I have an RPR in 338LM on the way, brass, bullets and dies too. Powder locally.

Yes I have been using the search function.

After reading lots of threads I also have a Bushnell XRS II 4.5-30 G3 on the way too. I can use some ring height/ type recommendations and a Bipod recommendation. I know the Atlas and GG&G are well regarded, but it seems like good old Harris is liked too. I'll probably shoot off a bench or prone mostly.

Thanks in advance for any advice and not beating me up too bad. Just looking to have some fun and burn a lot of powder.

Ok, thinking about the Seekins rings. I like the idea of the MXM, but in 34mm it only comes in 20moa. Since the RPR has 20moa already would that be too much for the 600yd range? Yes, I know that 600yd is not even hardly a start of its capabilities but may likely see use there until I can make larger ragged holes out of smaller ones.

Could just do the regular rings in 1.40” which seems to be what I can find recommend. They also have a 1.26”, back order now but I won’t get the wrong stuff just based on what’s available so any help is appreciated

Jeremy, it may be wise to hold off on choosing rings in advance. The profile of the inline RPR required me to use a riser between my scope and the 20 MOA base. Even with the adjustable cheek lowered all the way, I had difficulty getting the scope high enough for optimal position behind the ocular.
