Ruger Precision Rifle Trigger - Spring removal?

I’ve been reading around that people are removing the spring on the RPR trigger to take poundage away. Is this safe?

I’ve been looking to lighten up my trigger.

No problems so far. My trigger adjusted to lowest pull weight before spring removal was sub two pounds. After it is fourteen oz, to one pound. I have not drop tested or pounded the butt stock on the ground, but don't plan on doing that anyway. It is a ten minute job and can be restored just as easily. Several videos on YT.
