Looking at the rugged radiant 7.62. I like the idea of the modularity but was wondering if someone had experience with one. How well does it work in the short configuration compared to the long and does it want to back off where the two sections meet.

I don't have a Radiant, or any Rugged centerfire can for that matter. I do however have an Oculus and it is built very similarly with the short and long configurations. I haven't had any problems with it coming loose and I've been very pleased with it's performance and build quality as well as engineering.

I would think with the Radiant that when you tighten it down onto the taper mount, that it would be pretty easy to check for tightness of the body at that time. I would also think there would be almost no way that it could come loose enough to come apart without you intending it to.

Also no help with the radiant but no issues with my surge or oculus backing off. Lockup you the muzzle device is solid as well.

While I don’t have a radiant it’s going to be my next can. Seems great all around, long configuration when at the range and short when hunting. Great QD system as well. I think I’m going to get an obsidian 9 or 45 as well.
