When the USA decided to try to weaponize the status of the US$ as a world reserve currency and start demanding international banking systems like Swift become essentially arms of the US government and such, it was inevitable that countries would start moving away from the US$ and looking for other reserve or trading currencies.

What made the US$ respected at the very beginning was divorcing it from politics and political games of retribution. But now that it has come full circle and is being used as a weapon against countries, this is only the logical outcome.

It won't affect anything in the short term, but in the long term, it will crimp the ability of the USA to print Trillions and Trillions of dollars without the value of the currency plummeting... in other words, the free ride will be over.

At that time Germany had non-aggression pacts with most of the European countries Denmark, Estonia, Latvia France, Poland, Yugoslavia, Russia and ultimately invaded all. But its always a bit funny as 'western history' is making soviet -german non-aggression pact as anything out of the ordinary at the time.

exactly. and back in '15 under Obama's sanctions, the cash-strapped Russians were forced to sell the full advanced avionics package to the Chicoms along with the Su-35, instead of the stripped down monkey model that they had planned to sell them. That one act vastly propelled the chicoms' capabilities forward, and you know that they have long since reverse engineered the Russian technology to integrate into their other aircraft.
