I couldn't find it with the search button, so I'm putting it on here. Best trick to keep rust from forming between a gun and the scope ring bases. Heard of bowstring wax, Birchwood and Casey's Barridcade. I'm up for any suggestions.
First bed the base properly which will eliminate almost all the room between the base and action. Then when you actually mount the base use a little blue locktite between the two. That is what I heard somewhere here on the hide and what I ended up doing. So far it seems like I have a watertight seal between the two.
