Recently received a new rifle from Robert at RW Snyder. It is chambered in 260 and set in an AI AX stock. Made it out to the range this past weekend to get it dialed in. After bore sighting, I fired a few shots to get it hitting where I wanted it, my first 5 shot group put three in a cloverleaf, the other two landed elsewhere making the group about .750. Since I had only loaded up 20 rounds of 123 gr. Scenars, I decided to stretch its legs out to 700 on steel and rocks. My first shot landed just in front of the plate, that was my only miss on the steel. After that I picked off basketball sized rocks with the rest of my ammo. The SAS suppressor shifted impact at 100 about 2.5 high and right.
I've got some 140 gr. bullets on order and plan to get back out soon to do some load development.
After receiving the rifle, I called Robert and asked about the relief in the stock just below the ejection port as it has what appears to be marks left from tooling. Is this a common issue with this stock? The other side is flawless.
