Do I need 18 or 28 MOA on the base to get an S&B 3-12x MTC out to 1K. Rifle (308) needs 13.5 MIL to get to 1K, center of scope is 3in over bore. Zero will be 100Y, and shooting won't exceed 1K.

You know, just judging by the amount of travel needed and the sight height it sounds like this is going on a short barreled gas gun. If it is I'd also take a look at the LaRue M107 mount, it has 30 MOA of cant and should clear any iron sights you might have. Tigerbikes here on the forum has been using it with his S&B and seems to like the combo. Just something else to consider.
