I just finished a 6.5x284 Norma build, and decided to throw some S&B glass on top. I found a good deal on an older scope, but was curious about what i would be missing out on versus buying a brand new one. I was curious what changes/modifications the PMII line, specifically the 5-25x56, has undergone over the past two years. Thanks.

No real changes that I'm aware of. I'd just suggest that you be sure to get mil(cm) adjustments to match the mil reticle.

Nothing earth shattering. Some new reticles as mentioned and a MTC/locking knob coming out. Like Jason said just get the knobs and reticle matching as it makes life a little easier on the shoter and with the dual turn knob on the 5-25 the mil knobs give you a little more elevation adjustment. Shouldn't be a problem on the flat shooting 6.5x284 though.
I have a 5-25 PMII that I bought used 5 years ago and it works as well as the two newer ones I have gotten over the past year and a half.
If you are getting a good deal on te scope then buy it.
