I acquired an S&B 5-25 with the MTC and locking turrets and all from MILE HIGH (OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!). I love the scope, great glass and all. After zeroing it I tried to follow the instructions on resetting the turrets. I loosened the two turret screws but the turret would not lift up. There are three other holes in the cap but it does not appear that they are do much.

The instructions and pictures don't really help at all. Any here would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it is simple if you know what to do. Right now I miss my Premiere turrets. Thanks again Jeff.

Welcome to the S&B Crappy Manual fan club. S&B documentation could hardly be worse. It's like they could care less for the consumer and assume they are knowledgeable about the scopes inner construction.

If you had had regular turrets I could have helped as I went thru all of this recently.

Re: S&B PSR...What am I doing wrong

Try this out. I mounted the scope on our PGM .338LM PSR in the Larue OBR mounts. I used a Leupold optical boresight tool (has a reticle pattern in same). I measured the center of the bore to the center of the scope. (3") clicked on the boresighter at the same height on the magnitic stip to the muzzle.
I dialed the scope until the zero on windage and elevation was zero with the boresight tool. Once this was achieved.
1) locked the turrets
2) backed out the 2 set hex screws - there is a 3rd hole with no screw - leave this alone
3) Unlocked the turrets
4) rotated the dial until the "0" mark was centered. When you will "slip the rings" and move the turrets you will hear the clicking - this tripped me out the first time as i thought that I was still making an adjustment, but it is not actually moving the reticle. I was able to check this with the boresight tool while i was moving the turrets.
5) once satisfied, pull down the locking turrets and relock same to expose hex screws - tighten same and you are good to go for shooting your first group on paper

repeat for making adjsutments
