Due to moving out of my current country location into a city this fall to finish my degree I will most likely be losing a lot of bow hunting time. This gives me an excuse to upgrade the glass on my Savage 220 slug gun in case I don’t have a buck killed by shotgun season. Shot opportunities range from 150+ yards from tree stands to 15 yards on drives. My current optic is a Zeiss conquest 2.5-8x32mm with the German three duplex style reticle and target turrets. My father has his eye on this scope so I figure I’ll sell it to him and upgrade. I’m looking at the S&B Zenith 1.5-6x42 non illuminated and the Zeiss Duralyt 2.5-8x42 illuminated. The most important feature I’m looking for is edge to edge clarity and the widest field of view possible at the low end of the mag range for shots in the woods. I love my PM II on my .308, but I’m very impressed by the conquest that I currently have. Any experience with the Duralyt line of Zeiss or the Zenith line of S&B, or other recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
