Photos Sacrifice

Re: Sacrifice

One of my favorite bars, The Swiss, in Tacoma, WA has a shrine in honor of Pat Tillman sitting above the bar. It's got a picture of him and a few of his buddies in Afghanistan holding a sign that says "I'd rather be at The Swiss." The Swiss is a popular place for Ft. Lewis soldiers to cool their heels and from what I understand, he frequented there. If anyone ever stops over in Tacoma, be sure to stop there. Awesome example of sacrifice!

Re: Sacrifice

A sad story indeed. But it shows you the patriotism that he has. To quit a multi million dollar sport to join the military in a time of war and then to ultimately pay the price for his country. May he rest in peace.

I love that photo. His story teaches so many lessons about sacrifice, honor, and professional infantrymen, who also make mistakes. I am biased but I think there were a good many senior citizens waiting to be guided in that saw him walking up their road and cheered! and kept cheering as they stepped off the road and allowed him to walk to the front of the line, where he was saluted and escorted to an immediate staging area, where the remain over night NCO laughed, and then pointed him to a brighter light where he worried no more...

Make no mistake, the man with nothing can still give all. This man decided all was available and still chose to give it. Chance then visited. And so it goes...

Re: Sacrifice

Definitely unfortunate how all that went down, and there are still inquiries being done on the events of that fateful day.
