Today had to attend the visitation of a family member and was notified of a good freind that passed. Both these men were veterans, and honestly with the exception of friends and family will never be remembered for their sacrifices in defense of this county.

One was my grandson's other grandfather. Mr. Keith Brown was a Vietnam Veteran, who served in the Marine Corps. He had been fighting health issues from a stroke for over three years. He loved his family and his country.

The other was a close friend that I cared for when I worked at the VA. Mr. Philip Hill was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam war who served in the Air Force. He was a good friend, and loved his country. He died alone, with no family near him. Philip had fought long and hard with his health for the last 19 years.

The flag draped coffin at Keith's visitation pulled at my heart and emotions. I could not stay long, and it pulls at me to know that these two men will be missed by their friends and family. I will miss their company.

I am proud to say I knew these men, and know the sacrifices they made, and the difficulties they endured in their life. So many veterans fade into the past with their death, I just wanted to share that over the weekend we lost two more fine Americans. Let us not forget them.
