have sako 75 in 270 wsm with tupperware stock, will not shoot, tried different mounts, scopes, different torque on action bolts, will not shoot, 3 different factory ammo & handloads that shoot in other 270 wsm

Guy at accuflite, I think in Pennsylvania said he has seen many like this. He said he puts kevlar stocks on them and they shoot.

looking for additional opinions before I spend 800.00 on kevlar stock installed & rifle test fired

thanks

Re: Sako 75 accuracy

I have one in 243. I had the same problem 1 1/2 moa was it's best after cryro and
stock pillar bedding. I had Lone Wolf build me a stock and it's now 1/2 inch gun. (correction, it turns in sub 1/2 groups, but not all the time)
I was one of the first purchasers and believed the brochure that it was a composite
stock. It's stainless and the cryro did nothing for accuracy but really slicked up the
action.

Re: Sako 75 accuracy

I have a Sako 75 .260 SS (with the flimsy, cheap plastic stock)and it's the most accurate factory rifle I've ever owned. Load development kept them 1/2 MOA no matter what was put through it. I can't ask for more from a mass produced rig.

Have you check the crown to see what it looks like? Maybe have it re-crowned?

Re: Sako 75 accuracy

A cheaper option may be to purchase one of the Varmint Laminate stocks second hand from someone who has upgraded. I have one myself and the rifle shoots sub 1/4s as does my friends similar model. These rifles are bog stock and un-bedded. You should be able to pick up one of these cast stocks for less than 250 dollars (going by what they regulalry sell for this side of the water)

Re: Sako 75 accuracy

I would have to say that the Sako 75 that I have is the most accurate stock rifle I have ever own or seen in person. It is the varmint(sp) in 223. I bedded it and I noticed no difference but I think I am the limiting factor now! They are required to shoot from the factory so it yours doesn't and you have to time to wait and you like the stock, send it back.
