The team at Atlasworx has come up with the goods!
After many months of research, development and testing, this Australian manufacturer of high-end Aftermarket Rifle and Tactical products have released the Sako A7 Short action DMB floor plate conversion. https://atlasworxs.com/shop/atlasworxs-bottom-metal-dbm-aics-sako-a7-short-action/

Though its currently only available in Short Action, talks with the owner of ATLASWORX say Long Action kits will be available soon. I know a lot of people have been getting itchy trigger fingers waiting for this, but understanding designing and manufacturing of this conversion was not a simple feat. ATLASWORX also make a bunch of sexy option parts for your rifle too! https://atlasworxs.com/product-category/sako-a7/

Happy shooting

solid , the A7 platform has me tempted to build off it !

I just got this bottom metal, a few notes that would've help me had I known them from the start:

Product page notes "Inletting is required which is recommended to be done by a competent and qualified person". As a DIY guy I of course tackeled this myself. I have the Boyds lami stock, so with a vertical milling machine and sharp cylindrical carbide scraper it was a 15 minute job. I would not try to widen the slot with a hand tool, better let someone with proper tools handle it as suggested.

What threw me off, was that the front end of the trigger block needs to be filed down about 5mm, and at first, not knowing this, I thought the design is wrong.

Kudos to Colin at Atlasworxs for patiently talking the pissed off me through that. Now the plate sits cleanly.

One other thing you need to take into consideration is that NOT all AICS magazines work with A7. This is not the fault of the Atlasworxs bottom metal, but because A7 is designed stupidly...

Incidentally I now have 3 useless Magpul AICS magazine. My fault, read the site sloppy.

Update on the DBM: sent it back, because I was unable to source 10 round AICS magazines that worked reliably with it. Current war in Ukraine has made it difficult to source some magazines, and since on top of that they are quite pricey when delivered to Finland, I decided it just was not worth the trouble. I'm gonna "upgrade" my equipment to better suit my current hobby.

I must say (again) Colin from Atlasworxs was very helpful and understanding during this process.
