There are some knowledgeable people on this forum so I was hoping for a little feedback.

I have the chance to purchase a Sako L461 action. The action is brand new and beautiful. 223 bolt face, trigger, floor plate---Everything.

The asking price is $450. What do you think?
Thanks for your time

Re: Sako L461

If "brand new" and unused there are guys that will pay $600ish for them. They are super little actions but parts may be getting hard to find for the early L461. I know the older Pre Garcia/Pre74 that use the longer extractor, the extractor is getting near impossible to find. Sold my last 1 8-9yrs ago to a gent in WY that had looked all over for one. Also as stated scope mounting options are somewhat limited. They are so short that mounting a long scope looks kinda out of place and the close ring spacing doesn't offer alot of support.

But I would pay $450 in a heart beat for one despite the negatives.

Defiance Machine is supposed to be making a similar short short for the 222/223 cartridges someday?????

Re: Sako L461

Two years ago, I paid $450 for one that was beat to hell. It's been at the smith's since April and will hopefully be in my hands by the end of the year.

I'd jump all over a "new" one at $450. I'd like another for a 6x45 build. Ones in decent condition regularly sell for $700+ on gunbroker.
