Does anyone have opinions, reviews, or builds done with the Sako 85 actioned rifles, the A7 or the Finnlight series? I see plenty on the TRGs but not really a whole lot on the other Sako oferings.

Re: Sakos other than the TRG

There are many folks in the UK building on the 75 series of actions. Very nice quility kit. Just not as many gucci after market part like the 700.

Make great hunters.

It depends what you want to do with them, but 75s and 85s are great hunting rifles. McMillan makes stocks for them. I was thinking about a putting a .260 85 into an A5 but somehow I got sidetracked to a TRG .260, so it will be a while.

I had a .300 in the mid-90s. I think it was a TRS(not sure of the model), but it was a hammer. Only complaints were the flimsy stock and the scope base. That dovetail setup leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Sakos other than the TRG

I got a Sako 85 stainless. Ubber slick action and all the metal work is good. Only bit that lets it down is the stock. As mentioned the Sako dove tails limit your option when it comes to mounts, That said the optiloc gear dose work well. I ground my optiloc bases to give 15 MOA slope. When my 25/06 barrel wears out I'm going to change the stock and barrel, I spose that would make it a custom Rifle.
