Samsung watch

I have had one for years and upgraded through the versions.

The latest one is pretty useful, looks nice and is well polished in features.
Get the bigger of the two, it looks and feels better.

Apart from telling the time, my biggest use for it is to glance down and see messages & e-mails so I know I can safely ignore them.

You'll get about 2 days charge time depending on your use, but just slap it down on the wireless charger while you take a shower and such and you'll be charged up.

(If you have a new Samsung Phone, it can also wirelessly charge the watch).

I find the heart rate, SpO2 sensor and EKG monitor to be useful as well as lots of other bits and pieces.

They do have a version that functions as a stand alone phone if needed, which may be useful if you want to just wear your watch only while running and not have a phone with you.

I have a classic "Casio G-Shock."

But I find myself not wearing it that much anymore since I have my Samsung GS9 phone. I use that more for time telling than my watch.

Anyone else concerned smartwatches are just another invasive look into your life? Last thing I need is some data breech and now my insurance knows a lot about me? Bad enough the big box store sent me a letter offering me an extended warranty on my recent water heater purchase.

yes I swiped my bank card, no I don’t give big box stores my address.

the further we get into the future the less I’m enjoying all these prying eyes.

I have the galaxy watch 3 and hat the past 2 generations of it. I mostly use it for sleep data, exercise data and to see texts and such. Keeps track of my steps, heartrate and such. When at gym can use it for music so don't have to have another device as well as don't have to have phone with me.

Wife had one of the active 2's, be sure to get the correct one if you want to be far away from the phone. She got the wifi and it would not work good unless close to the phone, the tech help said she should have got the lte version...

Just as a note, if you get a Samsung Watch, keep the original box with all the stuff in nice condition and try to keep the watch in general in good shape.
When they release a new model, they tend to offer very generous trade ins for your previous generation watch during the pre-order period and if you can send everything back looking nice and near new once you get your new watch in and they e-mail you the return label, it's a pretty nice deal if you don't want the hassle of selling it yourself.

They also do that for phones if you are of the sort that wants the latest phone every year or two.

It's well worth signing up for all the presale notifications as usually during the presale for a new product they offer a nicer package of incentives as they try to get lots of pre-orders so they have big "launch day" sales numbers to look good on their stock filings.

Also if you have a Samsung phone, and are doing the pre-orders, try looking at it through the Shop Samsung app as often you'll find it's about $100 better all told than with a web browser for some of the phone pre-orders.

I got mine through the Verizon store. They offered a good financing program.

It always pays to shop around.
Samsung offers their own financing as well.
Just compare all the offers and check which one makes sense for you.

In my case, I used to get the carrier "subsidized" phones but eventually got fed up with them removing useful features (like the spam guard) to turn into paid features so I went unlocked and can't imagine going back to a carrier locked phone again.
