We had the first San Diego Bench rest shooters match this weekend. I did not get the turnout I would have liked but we did ok. We have a huge variety of weapons with shooters shooting 308, 223, 22-250 and 6.5X47.

We all had a blast shooting the match, the sequence went real well, all without too much of a glitch. Tom Kifer from Snipers Hide kicked the snot out of the Cal Gunners and took the overall win with a 434 point score plus 5 points for smallest group at 100 yards and smallest group at 300 yards for an overall score of 444. Tom was shooting his customized 223. I came in second with a total score of 427, shooting my CA 6.5X47. Phil Coats took the smallest group at 200 yards, shooting a 22-250. Big Al ran out of ammo after 45 rounds but still scored 375!! Am I glad he ran out of ammo, otherwise I would have ended up further down the list!!

Everyone really liked the venue and match sequence. Everyone agreed to meet again in May for a second match. I hope to see a lot more participation from the Cal Gunners, because we are going to need it to beat the Hide shooters. I will post and send out E-mails for the next match which looks like will take place on May 20th. So mark your calendars and save the date

Ted, looks like you guys had fun. I had to work late Saturday night/Sunday morning but am looking forward to the next match and meeting you and the other shooters.
