first time out with my 112 in 25-06 with heavy ss fluted barrel. I didn't have any reloading stuff for it yet so I bought a box of federal premium 117 gr. siera game king. I only shot 1 5 shot group at 104 yards after sighting it in, that group mesured .923. I know why savage came out with the accu-trigger,this trigger makes a x-mark pro seem like a jewell. can't wait to load some berger 115 gr with varget.

tried some 115 gr. winchester silver ballistic tip, .77 inch group at 104 yards

Re: sav. 112 range report

I think you will like the 115g Bergers, but I would go with a slower powder for the "heavies" in the .25-06.

H4831/RL22/H1000/7828 is the burn rate that did best for me in terms of velocity and precision. Retumbo also has a good reputation in this caliber as well.

58g H1000 was my final load, shot really well at about 3000fps.

Varget worked well for me with the 85-100g bullets, but not any better than the above listed powders.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Re: sav. 112 range report

At this time I'm using RL 22 getting 3060fps avg. I do have H1000 loaded to try this weekend. The 115 bergers do a number on deer and yotes.

Re: sav. 112 range report

I have a 112 in 300 wm. Love it.
I have not had many rifles, but this one proved to be the most accurate one right out of the box.
Dime size groups at 100.
