Hello all,
I am looking to possibly make a nice long range rifle. My only thing as of right now is I do not have any extra cash laying around so I have to trade my savage 220 slug gun for a nice rifle set up. Lately a gentleman offered me his savage Trophy Hunter XP chambered in .300 win mag. This model does have the accutrigger. Ideally down the road I would put a tactical stock and a 6-24X50 scope on it.
Do you think this is a good rifle to get started for a long range set up. I really do not see me shooting past 500-600 yards.
Another thing to consider is I do have a custom AR-15 with a chrome molly 20" barrel chambered in .223 and it has a nice 4-16X44 scope on it already. Would this set up satisfy my needs?
Any other input would be greatly appreciated.
