I am hoping we can get these in Europe, a fucking Tikka T3 varmint is about $1400-1800, and the GRS stock is another $600. I need something cheap to shoot, and this would have been great, so I can practice without putting miles on my Sauer 404 and Blaser R8. Hell a Howa 1500 is about the same cash as the Tikka. It would have been nice if they would have done them in 6.5x55 SE as well, then us Euros could have had good quality match ammo cheaply. You have to graduate from a class to reload in Germany, and they don't offer it in English.

I was really excited when I first saw this. I've been aware of the Berserk stock for quite awhile now. When I saw that Savage and GRS were going to provide an "off the shelf" setup I got really excited. However, that excitement diminished quickly when I saw the price. I've seen them listed online through a couple of well know retailers. You can buy a Savage and GRS separate for cheaper than the Savage GRS 10 package. I've seen prices from $1,350-$1,400 for the Savage 10 GRS. You can buy a savage 10T-SR chambered in 6.5 creedmoor for $650 (very similar to what comes on the Savage GRS). You can buy a GRS stock for $595 for a total of $1,245. The same site that has the Savage 10T-SR for $650 has the GRS combo for $1,369. I was really disappointed when I saw this as I think it's a great package, but the price is out of line.

I didn't check pricing but that sounds like a dumb move on the part of Savage to price it that way, I like the GRS but don't need more toys.

As someone has said, street price is more around the lines of 1,100 plus shipping and transfer fees or taxes, depending on where you buy. So lets say $1175 legitimately. But I will have to say your leaving a couple things out of your equation if you were to piece it together and truly comparible and it would be much more than the msrp asked by savage.

So let's say 650 for the savage 10t-sr (not a fluted barrel but no biggy there). 600 for the berserk. That puts us at minimum of 1250. Then you need bottom metal because lets face it, and for a true comparison, your not going to put the factory bottom metal on so in this instance if you put cdi bottom metal on that's another 209 minimum. Then you buy a single mag lets go low for a good mag on that at 70 depending on which mag you buy and if you only buy one but I'll leave it at one since you only get one with the 10 grs package. Then you have the base at 33 dollars for an egw base. None of this is even talking about tax or shipping which you can usually get away with only paying one or the other but not always both. So in total 650+600+209+70+33=$1562. But lets be real honest it would be more than that and really closer to $1600. Savage is saving you some dough.

My son picked one up last night in 6mm creedmoor for a grand. Very comfortable fully adjustable stock. the scope base was the heavy duty with larger screws. threaded barrel. Can't wait to make loads for it. I put on an Athlon 6-24x50 scope on it for now to get it sighted in & load development.
Trigger broke right at 2 pounds.

Well, after making loads that sucked & factory rounds that blew primers we have a new Shilen stainless select match barrel on UPS truck today waiting to be installed this weekend. Options were store offered full refund , send back to factory & hope it's fine, Or just get a new barrel since he loves the stock & action is great. the store is giving him a nice store credit for reloading supplies also which is a nice gesture on their part.

Can you share any of the group results?
Also what do you and your son like and dislike about the gun?
Well, it's his rifle but he loves the stock, very comfortable. No dislikes anymore since new barrel fixed the problems we had with factory barrel. He uses it for club matches & mid range varmint shoots. Heres a pic of 5 shot group before deciding on exploring a few 10's up & down to lower sd's.
