i am running a nikon monarch 6.5x20 now. i am using the factory base and A.R.M.S. #22 Throw Lever Rings (High). Im having alot of trouble hitting 1760yds. Does anyone make a base that will fit without any mods to give me enough moa. i hear 40 moa bases are working but i dont know what this will do at 100 yds. what zero should i be set on. also i max out my windage dial even at 300yds. could their be something wrong with my scope. id like to go to a leupold mark 4 or a nightforce or a vortex. i know wind and other things will not let me put crosshairs on at a mile and make the shot but i am maxed out up and holding a long way up. we have found bullet jackets at 1740yds and have seen splash all around target so i know im getting close but i am holding way to far up. any sugesstions?

What is your dope for 1740yds? I am guessing with your elevation it would be around 63-67 MOA. I am guessing that the Monarch scope has limited internal elevation adjustment as all Nikons do. You need to be looking at optics with at least 100moa internal elevation adjustment. The windage shouldn't run out, that could be a problem with the base, rings, or optic itself. If you can not apply the dope for the wind at 300yds there should be no reason to attempt any further distances.

I would look into a vortex Razor HD 5-20x50, SS 5-20, Leupold ER/T 6.5-20x50, Premier 5-25x56, Sightron 6-24x50 SIII 30mm,nf 5.5-22x56

All those optic listed above have either 100moa internal elevation or more. You will still be cutting it real close with a 20 moa base and an optic with 100 moa internal elevation adjustment.

I would recomend ANY other rings than ARMS trough levers for that purpose. It is highly provocative to have a springing mount when wanting that kind of accuracy.

Thanks guys! I found out my monarch was having issues. I have replaced it with a leupold mk4 8.5x25-50 lr, mk4 bases, and egw 30 moa base. I will return to the range next week and see how she shoots now.
