Savage 110 PCS. How are the ballistics on a 6.5 CM from a 10.5" barrel?

I'm interested in the 110 PCS. nice compact reliable package would be a great bugout/shtf/all-purpose rifle.

How are the ballistics on a 6.5 from a 10.5" barrel? 1:8 twist.

Would I be better off going with 223, 308, or 300 AAC, or 350 Legend instead?

If I tinker with QL to get it to spit out the right MV for my 130 grain load in a 22" barrel (2850 fps or so, 63.7 ksi projected with H4350) and drop the length to 10" QL predicts 2265 fps. My 140 load goes from 2675 fps to 2139 fps. That load is a little lighter, just settled there because it was close to factory and happened to shoot lights out.

For me, that would be a hard pass. Then again, my answer to the SHTF/bugout type gun is a 16" AR-15.

300 BO would work pretty well out of it. Lighter 223 bullets maybe too

That 350 legend sure has caught my eye. I have a few 350s and the velocity difference between 16” and 10.5” is so little it’s not worth the extra length, especially if you reload. Some pistol bullets and trailboss with a suppressor would make for a quiet fun range toy.

Looks like similar performance as an 18" grendel in a smaller package, pretty nice.

They need a prc to be closer to a 16" creedmoor.

Muzzle pressure is 23.3 ksi compared to 10 ksi for a 22" barrel... absolutely fucking brutal.

Given it is a PISTOL, the left bolt makes sense.

Most guys want to use them like a normal rifle so they will want a RH bolt. I guess it's possible they do a right bolt but they never did with the Striker
