Savage 170

Not really an appropriate forum to post this in since it is a slide action, but do any of you have experience with one of these? I was in a local pawnshop today and saw one. It was very clean and in 30-30. The price was $269 and I considered buying it(I have no reason other than I like it).

What do you know about them?
