Guys - I'm in the market and new to long rifle - started with a .308 savage 11/111 with Accutrigger. I stumbled on a 11/111 300 WinMag with a break factory installed and accustock and Accutrigger - what's the thought on this and if not good give me some options on the 300 WinMag - looking around $1500 (not including optics)

I had this rifle sent to me for an episode that we filmed for OUTLANDERS Limited Draw. After doing a ladder test, refining the powder graduations and increasing the distance on the next ladder test and finally breaking it down with 5 group test I had a load that would shoot clover leafs at 200 yards. I was pretty impressed! I should be getting that rifle back soon! With that experience I have no problem recommending it to anyone.

I have the 111 LRH in 300WM. I can't get it to group. The first 32 shots through it resulted in a best group of 4" at 100yds.
I clearanced the stock from the barrel, torqued the action screws to spec, and double checked all the scope mounting screws which were fine (Blue Loctite).

I hope you have better luck than me.

Another Option in that Same price range could be the Remington Mil Spec 5R. I believe they offer a 24" Threaded Barrel version and all 5Rs I own and Seen has been Sub MOA-1/2 MOA Rifles.

I have been very happy with my 110 fcp shooting the Berger 210 1" groups at 300 all day long... Best factory rifle straight out of the box in my opinion. When the barrel wears out shilen makes drop in barrels for em that take 5 minutes to change with a barrel vise and nut wrench.

interesting feedback gentlemen :)

I am not stuck on the Savage by any means - was just looking and know the rifle from my .308.

Any other options you want to suggest? I am completely open to opinions here.

I was looking at getting down the road a shilen barreled action they say they have a very similar footprint to a Remington 700 so finding aftermarket parts is easy and they have very good accuracy. .300" pinned recoil lug, shilen select match barrel (contour and twist of your choice), fluted bolt, running a barrel but for easy change $1500
