Re: Savage 338 L

although i have not fired this particular rifle, i have never shot a savage that didn't more or less outshoot the next guy with whatever he had for twice as much out of the box.

with 1 exception to the smoothness, i like their actions. sometimes you have to "break it in alittle" to get a smoother running action due to some paint / finishing issues at the back of the bolt by the bearing and in the lug channels. nothing a few hours of cycling in front of tube doesn't fix.

back to the bas / 10 BAT/S-K / 10 BAS-K, i'm liking the idea that from the factory, savage offers the accessories and touches that you'ld probably like to have in a factory rifle. plus knowing that you have an inherantly accurate rifle under the tacticool stuff, doesn't hurt either.

multi adjustable stock, option to choose your favorite ar grip, rails for stuff out the ying yang, bolt knob, muzzlebrake, fluted barrel, mag fed, accu trigger accu stock, an ar-15 feel with the accuracy of a bolt, and no wait or paying the gunsmith to put that stuff on for you. nice calibers available, what more can one want?

Re: Savage 338 L

I think it's fugly. But if I were shopping for a .338LM I'd probably pick one up if all those rails are removable.

a different grip and a regular ole 1pc 20 MOA base and I could dig it.
