Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone shoots the 338 Lapua with the Savage 112 and 110? How do you like them and if you had to do it over, would you buy something else and what? I would eventually like something in 338 and the Savage models look interesting. My other options would be Christensen Arms or Sako. I reload so the cost would be within reach. Getting the time and land is another story.

I have a 110 in the BAS-K version. I have no wants for anything more. It shoots lights out to a mile on 18" steel. Mine is 1:9 and handles the SMK 300's at 3/4" groups which is enough for me.

I have custom guns in other calibers and I like them but for what I'm looking for in a 338 the savage gets it done quite nicely.

My advice get a AREA 419 Sidewinder brake. It's a major improvement over the Savage brake.

I have shot one and liked it just fine. I think it’s a great value to try the 338, especially if you lack easy access to really long ranges to stretch it out and justify a custom or semi custom.

I had a Savage FCP-HS 338. It was a nice rifle. I replaced the muzzle break with a Terminator T3 break and it made a big difference. I'd buy one again, but it would be a single shot target version. I could only fit 285 Amax bullets into the five round magazine. The 300gn. berger load was too long and had to be single loaded.
