savage barrel swap

I need some help. Im looking for a 20inch .223 heavy contour barrel for a savage 110. i have exhausted my googlefu and haven't found anything.

Can anybody point me in the right direction, or am I going to have to cut a barrel down?

Go over to the savage shooter forum and look for Jim at northland shooting supply he can get you anything you want. I just ordered a 20" CBI barrel in 223 from him.

I also suggest Jim at Northland or Sin Arms, I have never heard a negative thing about either one of them. I have a barrel coming from Jim. The Criterion Barrels(button rifled Kriegers) Jim is offering have excellent reviews, and they are priced very well. They are planning a price increase in August or September so it would be a good time to buy one.

Go to the savageshooters forum look in the sponsors classifieds under northland. He is the only guy that I have seen sell just actions. A lot of guys find cheap used guns and break them down for the action

It isn't that I can't find Savage barrels, just not any 20" heavy or straight taper barrels in 223.

I'll go back and check the sites given above to see if I can find speciffically what I'm looking for.

The only good way to get a hold of Jim of Northland Shooters Supply, is by phone. He has Factory Savage barrels as well as many other manufacturers barrels on hand.

Jim sells just actions or occasionally you can find one in the classifieds on savageshooters.com forum. However the best route is to find a cheap rifle to tear down. I bought 4 complete savage rifles for $300 or less, you typically can't find actions for less. You can sell the barrel and stock if you don't want it.

I've got a long 110 action with .473 bolt head (fits 308/30-06 type cases) that I'd be willing to part with if you are interested.
