Just saw a Savage .22 heavy barrel in a Mcmillan A5-looking stock at Dick's. It felt great. It was heavy enough to have some heft, but not overly cumbersome. Accutrigger, a detachable magazine and an extended bolt knob that looked like a scaled-down KMW rounded out the package. Also had a lowend scope with covers.

The $399 price was not scary.

I apologize if this is a repost. I don't enter this forum much. Just letting you know.

Re: Savage Bolt Gun

Just brought one home. I didnt get it from Dick's Sporting goods but from Outdoor Junction.
I got the TR model with synthetic stock and threaded barrel.
It looks like alot of fun and close to my .308 in features.
Cant wait to take it out for a spin.

Re: Savage Bolt Gun

I was looking at one of those earlier. I didn't know Boyd's makes the stocks. Do you know the name of it by chance?

Re: Savage Bolt Gun

Actually, you are both correct and wrong at the same time.
The TR model does have a wood stock as specified on the savage website.
The TRR models have synthetic stocks.
Sorry for the confusion in my post above, I stated I purchased the TR model but that was not correct.
I actually purchased a TRSR model.
