Just about anything under spring tension is best taken apart inside of a plastic bag, this goes for extractors, ejectors, and numerous other things. Looking for these tiny parts will make you look like a crack addict crusin' the carpet.

Re: Savage Extractor

Thanks all,
Very hot load in a .243, when i finally got the bolt open the ball went flying, I got the extracor and the spring was still in the bolt. Going to get a bag of ball and springs from Brownell's.
