I ordered a Bell and Carlson A2 for a dual port Savage LRPV. The screw spacing is good but the new stock has a deeper counter sink for the screws. The front screw goes too deep into the action and sticks through. This prevents the bolt from being able to fully close. What can I do to fix this problem?

Put washers under the bolt head?

Cut the bolt shorter and re-chase the threads?

Buy a shorter bolt?

If you do cut it or grind it put a nut on it before you do so after you cut it and remove the nut it cleans the threads.

Thanks for the replies. I'm having a hard time finding the right bolt. I will probably just cut the one I have. I will make sure to clean up the threads before putting the rifle back together.
