wherever I may roam...
Is there a noticable difference out to 200yds., in accuracy, between these two models?
I ask because I am getting the run around on my FV I ordered almost a month ago, and they have an MkII F in stock, and it's $100 cheaper.
Don't know if any of you own them both, but if someone does, some feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Eric

I have a mkii F, and a mkii btvss, which is the stainless heavy barrel with a thumbhole stock. I don't really notice much in the way of an accuracy difference, shooting from prone. With .22's I really think ammo, shooter, and wind play a lot bigger role in accuracy then if you have a heavy barrel.

Thanks for the replies, I thought a couple of you had both. am lookinf for the most consistant, as am looking at paper punching out to 200(maybe more) and a small game hunter. Again, thanks.

Re: savage MkII F vs FV ?

have had 4 heavy barrels and one classic which was a tapered, my hb 93gv was the most accurate 17hmr I've owned. go with the hb, if you shoot 200-300 rounds or more a day, it wont heat up as quickly.
