Mc Millan stock, by the looks of it, but no info at savage for a Mod 11 Heavy barrel. I'm looking for a gun in 223 for my son. At $50 (used), it "looks good" Has a Bushnell scope. Are they (Savages) shooters?

$50! If you don't buy it I will. Most heavy savages shoot great. Also if it is a McMillan you just bought the cheapest mc stock ever. If the stock is a good add a new barrel from nss and you are in the whole rig for $400.
Buy Buy Buy Buy fast at that price. You can't get the scope mount and rings for that. Some will disagree but Savage is still one of the best kept secrets, they shoot great for the value and will out shoot most shooters.
If you don't grab it I'm in line behind Spock for saying I'll take it for that, even five times what they are asking.

$500, but still. Bushnell scope,mount and rings, heavy bbl, nice stock. But, I couldn't find an 11, on the Savage site, with a heavy bbl. Maybe an older model?
Dick's Sporting Goods has their Varmint/Tactical rifles that are an exclusive. Their prices are $499.00 for them, and they have several calibers to choose from.

It is a savage 11V-T. Dick's exclusive. Was there last week, and they were on sale for $499. It's a savage stock , but does have a wide fore-end, and extra swivel stud. (If this is in fact the gun you are looking at). The bottom metal is a little different, it has a plastic mag release and stays with the mag, rather than a metal release that stays on the gun like the 10PC. Not sure on replacement mags for this model. Also the bolt release is in the trigger guard rather than the top so you have to watch which stock you buy if going to re-stock. Was looking at this gun also but some of the changes they made to make it their exclusive changed my mind as far as wanting to modify it in the future. hope this helps
The Model 11's were all hunting style rifles with the sporter barrels. At least until the Hog Hunter and various take offs from that series. Regardless, if it had the McM stock on it, for that price, he would be crazy not to get it!!
