Gunsmithing Savage Model 10 caliber conversion

I own a Savage 10 BAS that uses the AICS DBM. My question is this: If I were to get a model 10 bolt in .223 rem, an AICS .223 magazine, and a second barrel chambered in 300 whisper, could I not change back and forth as wanted?

i think your on the right track. trim your scope base so you can get to the nut without having to take the base off everytime
