Just picked up this new savage 16 FHSS 243. Any recommedations on upgrading or making a long range rig out of it the way it sits. Thanks for any opinions. PS. it does have a detachable mag

I started a build with the same rifle. Mine was a hinged floor plate but I converted it to the stock savage DBM setup. I also changed the barrel to a Criterion 22-250 in light varmint contour and switched the stock to an accustock from a model 10 FCP-K. I had the bolt fluted by Sharp Shooter Supply and switched the bolt knob to the savage tactical version. I added a Karsten cheek rest and a darkeagle custom 10 round magazine. For optics I went with a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50.
