Guys,
I love my savage Stevens 300 wm but I have some questions for you. My internal box mag is extremly short , the coal in my mag box is 3.38. Right now I am shooting my rifle as a single shot. What can I do to extend my internal magazine? Would converting it to a 300wsm be benificial so I can seat the high b.c bullets longer? Or is there a less expensive way to extend the length of my mag box? All opinions are welcome!!

The thought of that gun being able to use high BC 308 bullets over the COAL of the WM never crossed the minds of the engineers. Unless the mag opening in the receiver is somehow much larger than the box mag, you are SOL.

Nothing against Savage/Stevens by the way...

I completly understand what you are saying. My rifle is shooting 1/2in with the crappie factory trigger. I am getting a timmney in a week. I guess I will just shoot it as a single shot. Thank you for posting

Stevens is the no frills (low dollar) division of Savage. I'm pretty sure the main difference is that Stevens rifles come with the pre-accutrigger style trigger and all Stevens have a standard pencil barrel.

Yeah... I know It is not the prettiest set up to start with but I am on a very tight budget. I know that it is going to be hard to build on but it us what I have to work with. Hopefully it turns out just half as good as all of the long range rigs on this site! Thanks for posting
