Re: savage target action questions

Call Jim Briggs at Northlander Shooters Supply, he typically will have Savage actions of muliple configurations in stock. He also carries Shilen, McGowan, and Criterion (Kreiger button rifled) barrels in stock in a multitude of chamberings. He may also have some stocks.

Re: savage target action questions

The shank sizes on the Target actions is slightly larger than the standard Savage barrel shank. Large actions are roughly 1.12 while the small shank actions are 1.06. Savageshooters.com is a wealth of information when it comes to building a custom Savage rifle.
