Savage TR and SWFA 16X scope issue

Hi:
I just bought a Savage TR and wish to use a SWFA scope.The scope has 3.75” of eye relief it’s the SWFA 16X.With the Savage scope base being used the scope will not come back far enough.Would a DPI scope base let me move the scope farther back?.Here are pictures of the rifle.
