I am thinking about getting the schmidt and bender 5-25x56mm PM II/LP/MTC/LT but I am considering waiting to see if they come out with a newer and better product for 2013 that will have a wider range of magnification such as a 3.5-25. However, I noticed the price on these scopes have increased almost 15%. I am wondering if they will continue to increase price or should I just order one now.

No one but the company knows if they are planning a price increase. I can tell you there won't be a 3.5-25x scope in 2013 so if you like the 5-25x then pick one up. You won't be disappointed. I have 3 and like them alot.

Order now. No sense in waiting for something that hasn't even been announced. These companies tend to reveal a scope at SHOT or a similar show, then it becomes available a year or two later.

Go ahead and order now. I waited into Jan '12 for the reticle I wanted and ended up paying the increase. If you see something you like better you can always get your money back out of it.

If they stick to their model of past years you woun't see a price increase. But we will not know for sure till at least November at the earliest.
That being said, their lead times are abysmal so the earlier you order the better.

Has anyone ever seriously thought they needed to dial down to 3.5 when at 5 power on there long range precision rig? Sounds to me like if you're needing to dial down to 3.5 on regular occasions you might have the wrong rifle/scope combo for the job. Just a thought.

I never turn mine down past 8 or 10x
if you need the 3 power then get a 3-20
look how long it took to get a 3-20 in your hands once announced, even if they announced a 3-30 or 1-25 today i bet it would take a year or more to get one, might as well buy a 5-25 now, they hold thier value well so you can usually sell your old one a few months or years later for the same or more than you paid and get the new model or new reticle
it might not be in 2013 but you can bet prices are going to conitnue to increase

I wouldn't wait on anything new S&B had to offer. We been waiting three years for the 1-8X scope.. We waited almost two years for the 3-20X after it was announced. S&B is one of those don't hold your breath companies. Although I love the product, I have never known them to make their delivery commitment.
