So, I'm checking the SB website comparing the older PMII with the yellow flag turrets, and the newer PMII with the MTC turrets, and it looks like about everything is the same... eye relief, field of view, light transmission, etc. are there any other differences aside from the turrets? I've handled both briefly and they both look great, I kind of dig the older turrets better as far as tactile feel of the clicks. I guess also the newer higher power ones as well, 3-27x, 5-45x. Is there anything else that makes the newer style superior?

thanks,
Scott

Wider FOV with no tunneling.

If you are referring to a difference between the DT turret S&B 5-25 and the MTC turret S&B 5-25, the only difference is the turret style. Nothing else has changed.

Well, the good news is that S&B, like Mercedes, does not change models much, one year to the next. That means that the PM-II, at least the 5-25x is a rock-solid design.

The turrets are different, and I am a tactical guy, so I like the lower turrets, but if you are a PRS shooter, the older-style tall turrets are easier to adjust. The latest multi-turn turrets give you a slightly better view of which rotation you are on. I don't think they are out in the market yet.

There are some deals to be had on the 5-25x, if you don't need the MTC.

The Ultra Shorts are a new design -- new in the last couple of years -- that are quite attractive to me. I think the 3-20x US is one of the best scopes on the market. But, you pay a small premium, and loose some magnification.
