I’ve been doing a little research on lights but wanted to know what you guys run. I have a Bren 805 that I run with a 1-6 illuminated optic and I am looking to get a light for up front. Looking for something bright with a 75 yard range to hit across my entire yard to my detached. Strobe would be nice but not necessary.

    Whatcha guys running?

I've been running an old Surefire G2LED on my AR upper for years without an issue, but recently picked up a new to me 14.5" upper with a Geissele MK14 rail, and plan to run a Surefire X-300UB in front of a DD fixed front sight. Might be better options out there, but plenty of other folks do it, and it works well for significantly less than more expensive options.

I know I read some really good things about the Streamlight HL-X as well. Thought about that if it isn’t too big. I like the X300 by Surefire but that’s a pretty small light.

Mine is the smaller one that only holds one battery, and it’s not the newest version with more lumens. Gets the job done very well, in the small amount of real estate I have on a 8” SBR. Scout light configuration (surefire or streamlight) gives you some great low profile mounting options.

I second the Surefire M951/Millenium series lights. They are a bit expensive new but you can pick em up off eBay for around $50-$100. The Malkoff is a must for these, itll smoke the old style MN10/MN11 style bulbs even with good batteries. I bought 2 GI issue M961s for $80 all together. They aren't pristine but I bought them to use them. They are tough as hell. I have one on my "around the house" gun with the Malkoff LED conversion ($40) and its unstoppable. I have beat these two lights a lot and they keep running. I have roughly $80 in each between the light and Malkoff LED conversion. They aren't small, but they always work. I have a field off the left side of my front porch that ends right at 280yds and I can cover half that distance pretty easily with the M961. I can just make out eyes reflecting at about 160yds.

I’m running a Surefire M600DF. 1,500 lumens on their rechargeable battery. Comes with battery, charger, 110 plug, and AC car adapter plug. Can be had for $230’ish.

It will go well beyond 75 yards and maintain PID.

Anything 500-1500 lumens with a little less halo or spill around the edges in favor of throw. A p3x fury could be picked up used and fit your needs pretty well.

Anything that is LED...........I''ve got a couple of small hand held, some what high end that are 1000 lumens. Sometimes too bright, depending on what you are looking at..........

Surefure x300 is my go to for pistol and carbine. One for pistol. One for sbr with micro t1. One on 16” SCAR 16 w/ 1-6 Razor. I might even have an extra floating around in a range bag. Super versatile light

I know it sounds goofy. However, I’ve been using the latest of this “as seen on tv” Tac Lights and it really works well! Uses s.o.p. batteries, doesn’t burn them too fast, focuses well, and it holds up to a lot of banging around.

Yea I ended up grabbing the Streamlight HLX for my Bren. Got a MP5 coming in trade so I’m going to do something smaller on that one like the X300 ultra.
