There is tons of reading, the above article is nice and has some links to other subjects.

For the most part, portability, glass quality, and the width of the actual laser are qualities to look for in a LRF. You will find most of the European LRF's excel in this area. Of course the Vectronix leads the pack, it all depends on your budget.

As for the BR2, it is designed around long range hunting and works in conjunction with the G7 scope. The G7 Scope is a Gunwerks flavor of Nightforce, and comes with a BDC type reticle and turret system. Many guys scoff at BDC as they are not correct for all conditions, but this is where the BR2 comes in. The BR2 can measure baro pressure, temp, heading and angle cosine. You enter wind and it will give you corrections.

If you search Gunwerks on youtube, there are several videos that go in depth to the BR2 features.
