I have been hearing for a while now about using fine grain powder, or water to find a case capacity when reloading...... What is this for? Is it just to weed out cases that dont have the same capacities? does it have something to do with the amount of powder to use? I have no idea on this one.

Some of the load development software bases calculations on "case capacity" and the standard metric is water volume.
