im getting a new savage model 12 6.5 creedmoor with the hs precision stock and 26in heavy barrel im looking at shooting from 100-1200yrds. most shooting at from 100-400 question is what scope can I get to do this for around 1000.00 MAX... LEARNED TO SHOOT MILDOTS but would a target dot like a weaver t36 be better? mostly shooting targets and gongs with a deer and hog in there somewhere

In the sub $1000 range, look at the Vortex PSTs, Burris XTRII's (like mentioned above), and the SWFA 3-15x42. If you can go just a bit above $1000, you can get a used SWFA 5-20x50 or Bushnell DMR 3-21x50. The biggest thing to look for is matching turrets and reticle (mil reticle with mil turret adjustments, or MOA reticle with MOA adjustments).

Watch for the super sniper 5-20 HD.
You can pick them up used here for around that..
Especially the non-illum version..
