I am wanting a scope to put on a Savage FV-SR .22LR. I think I am narrowed down to choice between the following.
1) Vortex Crossfire II 4-16x44
2) Mueller 8.5-25x50 Eraticator
3) Mueller 8.5-25x44 Tactical
There is things I like and dislike about each. For one on the Mueller I like the higher Magnification to see the little .22 holes but the over all length is 15.62" (Vortex is 13.5"), hell the barrel of the .22 is only 16 1/2" . The Objective lens is also a 50mm which I think is going to look huge on the rifle and might need to get higher Scope Rings which is going to lead me to the next question. Am I going to have good cheek rest without having to pick my cheek up off the stock? Will my kids be able to have good cheek rest (they are only 2-3yrs away before I can start to teach them to shoot, I am excited about it). But on a good note I like the 1/8MOA adjustments that it has.
What are your thoughts? Does anyone have any of these scopes, do you like them? Does anyone have any pic/or be willing to take pics of the turrets under the caps of the Vortex scope?
