I have a Savage10 with an IOR 3.5-18X50 scope and a 0 moa base.
After zero set, my 20 mil elevation scope only has 2 mils left for elevation adjustment. Beyond 300 yards I have to use hold over and would rather adjust the turrets. My question is 2 parts.
What size canted base do I need to give me at least 10 mils of elevation.
What is the math you used to find the answer so I can do it myself if need be?

Thanks.

Re: Scope Base Math Question

If you only have 2 mils of up elevation left after zeroing on a scope that is supposed to have 20 mils then you have bigger problems than a base. How much windage did you use to zero? Did you ever get the scope to optical zero and then check how much up and down elevation you have?

Re: Scope Base Math Question

That's really odd that you only have 2 mils of up when zeroed. You can get a 40 MOA base. 1 mil= 3.44 MOA so 40 MOA is about 11.6 mils so you that should leave you with about 13 mils up.
