Rifle Scopes scope choice

I received for Christmas a Howa 1500 in 6.5x55.It came with a inexpensive scope but would like to replace it. I have mostly always shot at 100 yards due to that is all my gun club had .I have found another gun club, that has a 400 year range.I will be using copper creek ammo loaded with Hornady bullets. I would like to work up to shooting 400 yards but am unsure of the scope I should choose.My budget is 400$.Thank you

For $400 probably a Athlon Argos BTR 6-24 x 50. About $370 on Amazon.

Athlon or SWFA fixed power. If you can stretch the budget out slightly Natchez still had some of the 3-15 Tactical {super slams} last time I looked 500-600.
