Picking up my second Lmt mws.
this one will be outfitted with a 13.5 inch barrel and welded mams brake. Yes fireballs and muzzle blast central.
I want to keep this set up lightweight and I’ll be be shooting it out to 500 yards.
My inclination is to go acog. Maybe ta11. My question is how well will the reticle work on a 13.5 barrel for shoots at 500 yards?
Anyone know what type of velocity they are getting on 13.5 308 with ball Ammo. I might even be able to use an acog reticle built for 7.62 by 39

Honestly if you are to keep it light as possible, I would take a look at the Leupold Mk6 1-6 . 16oz before mount, 22ish with. Solid scope, good recticle options.

The Trijicon TA33 is also a nice light weight option at around 10oz.

I would also not rule out a simple micro red if within that 500 yard window most of your shots are going to be withing two or three hundred yards. that could keep your optic in the 5 to 10 oz range. While not idea, Ive taken 10.5 AR's out to 500 with red dot fairly consistently on man size steel with match ammo. At 500 yards thats around a 3MOA target, with a 1 MOA dot.

While I think that there are better LPVO's as mentioned above, but that configuration is going to be pushing almost 2lbs.

maybe i should give the nx8 a chance again. i owned one, and wasn't impressed. Too spoiled with my khales and swaro 1-6 with much better eye relief and glass.
However, that would be a lightweight option, and it should def get the job done.
Also seriously contemplating just adding a red dot as well.

Not sure i would consider the NF light weight. Red dots can work
