I'm currently useing a NF 8x32x56 on my Armalite Super SASS. I have 1.25" to centerline rings with .50" risers which gives me about .25" from top of the rail to the bell of the scope. This doesn't seem too high for me but if I go with shorter rings will this give me more elevation on the scope?
This scope has 65 moa of travel over all; which in a perfect world this is only 32 moa of up elevation.
I ran out of up elevation when trying to reach 1k Sunday. I was useing 168 FGMM ammo (which is not the chosen bullet for this range) but I should have been able to reach that distance.
I guess What I'm asking is; should I waste my time and money trying lower rings or just pick up a unimount or other 20 moa base. And will that work with my scope and rifle combo?
thanks
